Review of different models used to assess the susceptibility of exogenous mass movements in the mountainous regions

Keywords: Landslides, Modeling, mountain regions

Abstract

As we know that mountainous territories of Uzbekistan prone to mass movement processes and modeling of landslide processes can ease the work of decision makers. This paper mainly reviews the effectiveness of remote sensing and GIS technologies and landslide susceptibility models based on these technologies. Nowadays more than 70 models have been used for the landslide susceptibility assessment. Application of different models using digital elevation models and optical, microwave remote sensing datasets will increase the quality of the conducting researches and the number of publications in high-ranking journals.
