Abstract

Background: Cardiovascular disease (CVD) is the leading cause of death worldwide. An estimated 17.9 million people died from cardiovascular disease only in 2019, accounting for 32% of all deaths worldwide. Of these deaths, 85% were caused by heart attack and stroke. More than three quarters of deaths from cardiovascular disease occur in low- and middle-income countries. Methods: This research was conducted with the collaboration of Russian researchers RECORD-2 project (supervisor – Prof. N.A. Gratsiansky, coordinator – senior researcher A.D. Erlikh), patients age spectrum was between 26 to 88 years with a suspicion of one of the acute coronary syndromes at the time of admission to the hospital and included in the acute coronary syndrome register. A specially organized register included 612 patients with acute coronary syndrome.
