The article highlights the activities of the public catering system in Uzbekistan in the 20-80s of the XX century. Including the formation and ongoing measures of the Soviet government to strengthen the system, material and technical support, the problems and needs of the population in this area. During the Soviet era, new directions were formed in the public catering system. In the republic in the 60-70s of the twentieth century, a number of measures were taken to develop the public catering system. New facilities were commissioned on premises with an emphasis on strengthening the material and technical base. However, the sanitary conditions in the canteens of a number of educational institutions and organizations were inadequate, not suitable for accommodating their places, and the necessary conditions for their work were not created.
