This article discusses the possibilities of studying the sociocultural stratification of student youth within the framework of the cultural and normative stratification system and the application of the resource approach. At an empirical level, this approach is proposed to be studied as a separate part of the qualification resource associated with the social value of obtaining higher education with a view to the subsequent capitalization of knowledge and skills. The empirical base is a research by students of the Faculty of Social Sciences, National University of Uzbekistan named after Mirzo Ulugbek, conducted by means of a personal contact interview. In this article, questions of motivating students to study are considered as a tool for measuring social stratification among youth groups.One-dimensional and two-dimensional frequency analyzes of key issues were used as the basis for measurement, which made it possible to identify some social groups among students.
