Objective: To study the mechanical properties of medical products based on cobalt-chromium after thermal and electrochemical treatment and to determine their biological manufacturability. Material and methods: Experiments were carried out on 20 male rabbits of the same age, belonging to the same species, which were surgically introduced into the abdominal cavity and intramuscularly with implants based on cobalt-chromium. Histological preparations were taken from the operation site for microscopic examination, blood and urine of animals were used for biochemical analysis. Results: Inflammation (edema) at the site of implantation due to damage to adjacent tissues during surgery was observed in 62.5% of experimental animals, 50% had dystrophic changes in tissues, and 75% had destructive changes. Conclusions: In experimental animals, infiltration, lymphocytes and macrophages were observed in the tissues around the implantation area, as well as a tissue reaction associated with the reaction of the body to a foreign body.
